Interior design is much more than decoration – its purpose is to improve the user experience by better understanding of the space and to give response to any existing challenges, while choosing smart, high quality materials and solutions.
1 – BRIEFING / SITE VISIT
After acceptance of the fee proposal, we visit the site in order to evaluate the existing space and to make an architectural inventory and then draft the plan of the interior. We learn about possible challenges to be resolved and about spaces that need optimization to draft some possible solutions.
At this stage, we interview the client to understand their needs and wishes and create a space that will fully correspond to their lifestyle.
Besides the client´s briefing, we establish a budget and timeline for the project.
2 – CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT
We formalize the pre-stated objectives and programme, and translate them into drawn elements, like plans, sections or sketches that illustrate the planned transformation of the spaces.
At this stage, it is possible to present different solutions for the space as to provide the client a wider range of options and to allow for a better understanding of all possible design approaches.
3 – DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
After approval of the final solution, presented in the previous phase, we advance to more detailed drawings and more rigorous design. More details are added, as well as proposals for materials, colors, textures and finishes.
We work with digital models (3d models) to be able to show to the client the designed spaces in more detail.
The integral part of this process is the preparation of infrastructure drawings, like electricity changes, lighting changes, etc.
4 – EXECUTION PROJECT
A phase of the project that includes detailing and specification of all the elements in drawing and written form in order to be well executed by the constructor.
Execution project results in a submission of Material Specification (definition of all the finishings included in the project), Construction Specification (definition of all the constructional proceedings), Measurements (quantification of all the elements and material defined in the Material Specification), General Drawings and various Detailed Drawings (constructional details, stone-works, wood-works, bathrooms, etc).
This project serves as a basis for quotes for the work, helping to make a better decision when it comes to choosing a contractor.
5 – CONSTRUCTION BIDDING
Clients can hire a contractor of their choice or can ask a few contractors for a quote in order to be sure they are getting an adequate bid in a sense of quality, price and schedule.
During this process, we will answer any doubts that the contractor may have, issue formal clarifications to the drawings and specifications and help to evaluate the quotes.
On the request of a client, we can offer our help in asking for quotes and choosing a contractor.
6 – TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON CONSTRUCTION SITE
We are available to perform technical assistance on the construction site in order to make sure that the premises of the project are being maintained and to guarantee the execution of the details defined in the execution phase.
Depending on the complexity of each project, we propose different schedules of visits on the construction site to give our support in clarifying all doubts that may appear during the building phase. The frequency of the visits to the site could be daily, weekly or monthly, depending on the complexity of the site.
During this phase, we will answer contractor´s queries, issue necessary modifications and corrections and solve problems that arise in the field.
On a special request we can take over the process of construction and decoration on behalf of a client. Turnkey is a service including coordination of the construction team and all the orders and deliveries of materials and equipment.
This service is convenient for clients who cannot or choose not to take part in the construction phase and would like to move into a complete and ready to operate apartment or house.
